About us

Where we come from

We started out as practitioners – social entrepreneurs wanting to do some good in the world. Our work is fueled by a strong creative streak, which began in the creative sector, delivering live music events, pop-up galleries, community projects and social enterprises. At the same time, we were founded on the back of a strong social sciences discipline – social research, urban design and regeneration, and socio-economics. That three-way mix of creativity, a strong theoretical social sciences underpinning, and a socially entrepreneurial streak, combine to make us unique.

We’re a purpose driven company and a certified B-Corp (see below). We are also an accredited Living Wage employer. We want to make a positive difference in the world through what we do and we think creativity and good ideas can do that if given the right support and encouragement.

Since 2004 we’ve been forging great ideas that change the world for the better by turning good ideas into reality, helping to sustain them, and learning what works and what doesn’t so that even better ideas can be developed in future.

We're a certified B Corporation

We believe that business should be a force for good and we are a certified BCorp – the second in Wales and the first in our home city of Swansea.

BCorps balance profit and purpose and meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, and transparency. They also legally enshrine these requirements into their governing documents.

To become a BCorp you have to meet a rigorous set of independently verified social,  environmental, accountability and transparency standards – the B Impact Assessment, which is administered by the non-profit B Lab. You can see our current B Impact scores here – we’re working to improve on this each time we renew our accreditation.

We have always operated with purpose at the core of what we do – our BCorp accreditation verifies that, keeps pushing us to do even better, and links us with a global community of businesses who want to balance profit and purpose, from small businesses like ours to multinational brands.

If you’re thinking of taking the leap to accredit as a BCorp for the first time and want to chat about our experiences we’ll be very happy to have a chat.
