Supporting the Next Generation of Creative Talent

From creating content at Urban HQ to supporting our Green the City conference, Swansea University student Theo Roberts made a real impact during his marketing placement with Urban Foundry.

At Urban Foundry, we believe in creating opportunities for people to develop their skills, build confidence and gain valuable experience.

We work closely with both Swansea universities, regularly supporting students through paid placements, projects and workshops. It’s an important part of our commitment to nurturing local talent and helping people take their next steps.

One of those students is Theo Roberts, a third-year BA Media and Communication student at Swansea University, who recently joined our marketing team on placement.

Working alongside Gareth Lewis and Lucy Beddall, Theo supported a range of projects, from creating content for Urban HQ to helping promote our events and activities.

He particularly impressed the team during our Green the City Climate Change Conference, where he managed social media coverage throughout the day while getting stuck into everything else needed to make the event a success.

Theo also helped secure press coverage for our Love is Film Festival, demonstrating his creativity, initiative and growing confidence.

Throughout his placement, Theo brought enthusiasm, professionalism and a willingness to get involved in every aspect of our work.

It’s been a pleasure watching his confidence and skills develop, and we’re proud to have played a small part in his journey.

A big thank you to Theo for everything he’s contributed. We wish him every success as he takes the next step in his career.
