A night of kindness

Matt Callanan from We Make Good Happen kicked off the second event in our 51.6 series of talks and activities with a sell-out talk encouraging us to become more thoughtful. The evening took place at 222 High Street (thanks to Coastal Housing) last Thursday and included a talk and interactive session.

Matt is well known for his #Tenner4Good initiative which attracted the attention of Russell Howard, BBC and the national press (and the royal family – long story). He hides £10 notes, with instructions, in random places to energise us into using it to do some good. He even kindly sacrificed his speaker’s fee to hide a number of £10 notes under attendees’ chairs so they could turn it into their own acts of kindness. With the act comes great responsibility and we are looking forward to finding out what people did with their £10s.

The evening was a success and we are grateful to our University of Wales Trinity Saint David student interns Roisin Hannon and Obaidah Sbeitan who helped us to ensure it ran smoothly. Also thank you to fellow student Molly Webb who was our official photographer.
